What is the Internet and how it was came?

The internet is generally defined as a global network connection millions of computers.

It is the biggest worldwide communication network of computers. Internet has millions of smaller domestic academic, business and governmental network, which carry many different kinds of information and varying purposes.

The term is sometimes abbreviated as “The Net”. The World Wide Web as more commonly known as WWW is one of the biggest services. It is used by a few billion people all over the world at the same time.

Now let me share with you how it came to be:

The internet was developed in the United States by the “United States Department of Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency” (DARPA).

The Internet was first connected in October 1969, and was called Arpanet.

The internet was the result of same visionary thinking of people in the early 1960s which saw great potential value in allowing computer to share information on research and development in scientific and military fields. However it is no longer limited to just scientific and military purposes. It is used for literally every single thing.
